Taste for Thought

Main courses

After traveling extensively across Asia, I’ve fallen wholeheartedly in love with its diverse and vibrant cuisines. It’s no surprise that we’re kicking off our main-dishes section with Asian flavors. Of course, it hardly does the continent justice to group all its culinary traditions into a single category—each region deserves its own spotlight, and perhaps in the near future we have time to arrange just that!

From fluffy Chinese bao buns to refreshing Hawaiian poké bowls, here you’ll find some of the most memorable Asian dishes we’ve discovered on our journeys. And yes—there are plenty of vegan and vegetarian options to explore, too. Dig in and enjoy!

European
Cuisine

Just like Asia, Europe is home to an incredible tapestry of food cultures. From refined French cuisine to vibrant Spanish paella, and of course the beloved pastas and pizzas of Italy, this continent offers endless culinary inspiration. In this section, you’ll find a delicious variety of European dishes that showcase the flavors, traditions, and creativity found across its many regions. Bon appétit!

Low sugar

&

low carb

In our fast-paced modern world, choosing fresh, healthy ingredients benefits everyone—but for those managing diabetes or gestational diabetes, maintaining a low-sugar, low-carb lifestyle is especially important. Unfortunately, a quick online search often leads to thousands of uninspiring salad recipes. A bowl of lettuce might be fine now and then, but eating it seven days a week gets old fast. That’s why we’ve gathered our most flavorful, satisfying, and creative low-sugar, low-carb main dishes and collected them here. Healthy eating should be exciting—and these recipes prove it!

Vegetarian

Growing up, it was completely normal to eat meat every day—especially in Dutch cuisine, where traditional vegetarian dishes were few and far between. But over the past decade, eating less meat or skipping it altogether has become much more mainstream. We’re not big fans of meat substitutes ourselves; we prefer dishes that are naturally vegetarian or vegan. Only for certain recipes where you really want that extra crunch might we reach for something like a vegan crispy poké bowl.

So let’s start by reimagining our meals in a way that’s flavorful, satisfying, and doesn’t rely on meat at all. For inspiration, look no further than India and many parts of Asia, where vegetarian cooking has long been the delicious norm!

Vegan
Recipes

Vegan cuisine has evolved far beyond its early reputation of being restrictive or plain. Today, it’s an exciting, creative, and deeply flavorful way of cooking that highlights the best of what plants have to offer. Instead of trying to mimic meat, we love focusing on ingredients that shine on their own—fresh vegetables, legumes, grains, spices, and clever techniques that bring out rich, satisfying flavors.

Across the world, from the fragrant curries of South Asia to the vibrant vegetable dishes of the Mediterranean, countless cultures have been crafting naturally vegan recipes for centuries. Here, we celebrate that inspiration with a collection of plant-powered meals that prove vegan food can be hearty, colorful, and absolutely delicious. Enjoy exploring a kinder, cleaner, and wonderfully tasty way of cooking!
